The Beatles - Decca studios

 

Regrettable decisions haunt us all, but for Dick Rowe his judgment here one New Year's Day was to earn him the unenviable title of the man who turned down the Beatles’.

The then unknown (and unsigned) Beatles arrived at this studio in 1962 for their first-ever professional recording audition. It was a cold wintry day, and a tiring journey from Liverpool didn't help the lads' performances. The notorious decision was quickly made -- Decca signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes, the second candidates of the day.

Luckily for Rowe some redemption was at hand when he signed the Rolling Stones (ironically on George Harrison's recommendation) the following year.air max pas cher
