Castle Donington is a village in Leicestershire with a population of around 7000. It is close to Derby and Nottingham and on the edge of the National Forest.
Castle Donington has played host to many heavy metal festivals, throughout the eighties and nineties the Monsters of Rock festival. And from 2003 and onwards the Download festival. Big named rock bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Sepultura, AC/DC, Status Quo, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe and Whitesnake have all performed here.
